Jojoba

Jojoba

Jojoba vegetable oil is extracted from the oleaginous jojoba seeds traditionally grown in Central America. This oil sets at low temperatures and is therefore considered a vegetable wax.

Its interest in cosmetics stems from its chemical composition, which is similar to human sebum: it contains almost 80% monounsaturated fatty acids (erucic acid, oleic acid, gadoleic acid) and ceramides. Because of their similarity, the skin absorbs them perfectly. Jojoba oil reinforces the skin's hydrolipidic film, which maintains moisture levels and fights external aggressions. It is therefore a powerful ally for dry, dehydrated skin.

Jojoba oil has sebum-regulating and rebalancing properties: when applied to the skin, it helps oily and problem skin by regulating sebum production. What's more, it's non-comedogenic and won't clog pores.

Jojoba oil also has anti-inflammatory properties, soothing skin prone to redness and certain skin conditions.

Finally, rich in vitamins E and C, it prevents oxidative stress, responsible for accelerated skin aging and the appearance of wrinkles.
