Zinc
Zinc is a micronutrient essential to the body's health. In case of deficiency, skin becomes dry and rough, its barrier function is impaired and healing slows down.
Zinc is an ally for acne-prone skin, inhibiting the proliferation of bacteria on the skin - particularly those responsible for acne - and calming skin infections. Through its anti-androgenic action, zinc reduces sebaceous gland activity and regulates sebum production, preventing blemishes.
Zinc is also used as a sun filter thanks to its ability to absorb UV rays. It is often found in natural suncare products, where it replaces "chemical" sunscreens and acts like a shield on the skin's surface to protect it from the sun's harmful effects.
In addition to the skin, hair also benefits from zinc's virtues. Its purifying and antibacterial properties help oily scalps regulate sebum production, while its soothing properties relieve itching and other scalp discomforts.
