Donatelle Godart, into the skin of a designer
Donatelle Godart is a graduate of the Studio Berçot fashion design school in Paris. Initially a stylist for various fashion magazines, including Elle, it was while designing her wedding dress that she had the idea of launching her own brand. She founded the house of Donatelle Godart in 2015, capturing trends that she blends with her intuitions and desires, between romance and casualness, elegance and freedom.
What is your relationship with your skin?
I'm lucky enough to have good-quality skin, but it tends to be dry. It needs a lot of moisturizing, especially in winter when I can be prone to feelings of tightness. That's why I use PERS Crème Riche. Its rich but not oily texture makes it very pleasant to apply. It's perfect for moisturizing my skin.
What does a designer's skincare routine look like?
In the morning and evening, I apply a serum followed by PERS Riche Cream. I do masks two or three times a week, and a scrub once or twice a week to gently exfoliate my skin.
Currently, I've incorporated PERS Retinol Serum into my skincare routine. I apply it every other night, and the results are very satisfying: my skin is smoother, brighter and more even-toned. Because of my dark circles, I apply an eye contour cream daily.
In addition to this daily skincare routine, I opt for regular skin cleansing, Kobido massages and facial acupuncture sessions. I lived in Asia for almost 5 years and their approach to well-being is extraordinary: taking care of yourself is part of their daily routine. Acupuncture was a real revelation for me.
Finally, I complete my routine with marine collagen and hyaluronic acid cures to maintain the health and youthfulness of my skin.
Does your creative process influence your skin?
As a designer, certain periods are particularly stressful and tiring. I use PERS Vitamin C Serum to soothe my skin and combat dullness.
What does it mean to you to feel good about yourself?
For me, feeling good about your body means listening to your needs, which means living as healthy and balanced a life as possible. For me, regular exercise is essential to maintain my physical and mental well-being. Pilates has become a real ally in my daily routine to maintain flexibility and strengthen my body in depth.
This is also what I recommend to women looking for their wedding dress: the most important thing is to listen to their needs. A dress in which you feel comfortable is a dress in which you radiate.
What skin care advice would you like to pass on?
Drink lots of water, protect your skin from the sun with a suitable SPF 50 product and eat healthily. That's also what I advise brides-to-be to do to prepare their skin for the big day!
