How to choose your retinol?
Retinol is considered one of the most effective compounds for compensating for the degradation of skin support fibers. It stimulates collagen and elastin production for smoother, more elastic skin. It is also recognized for its antioxidant virtues, which prevent premature aging of skin cells.
However, retinol's benefits come with a recognized irritant potential: it can cause redness and discomfort in people with sensitive or even atopic skin. To avoid any risk, you need to choose your retinol carefully, by looking at its concentration.
As a reminder, the European Cosmetic Regulation authorizes the use of retinol in non-rinse-off products at a maximum concentration of 0.3%. Overdosing on this active ingredient can be at best useless, at worst dangerous. At high concentrations, it can cause severe skin irritation.
PERS Serum :
PERS Retinol Concentrate Serum contains 2% of a natural pro-retinol or retinol booster for sensitive skin. This molecule prevents the natural degradation of retinol in the skin, so retinol's effectiveness is maintained for longer without the need for too high a dose.
We tested the serum on a panel of 40 volunteers over a two-month period, 50% of whom were multi-ethnic and 50% with sensitive skin, to ensure results and safe use.
