New year, new skin: our resolutions for longer-lasting, more beautiful skin

What if we took advantage of the New Year to set up good skin care habits?

Here are our resolutions for setting up a good skincare routine in just 4 steps. Easy to adopt, easy to follow, with the promise of visible results quickly, and for a long time to come!

1. Simplify your skincare routine

The best is sometimes the enemy of the good: applying too many active ingredients, or applying them at the wrong time of day, can sometimes be unnecessary or even irritating.
Our first resolution is therefore to provide our skin with only what is necessary and sufficient. This means sticking to a routine of essential products and active ingredients, and applying only the right dose of active ingredients that will be truly effective when the skin needs them.

Simply follow the 4 P.E.R.S steps to set the right pace for skin every day:

In the morning : PROTECT the skin from daily aggressions (oxidative stress, UV, pollution...) to prevent premature aging.

Anytime: ENHANCE as often as necessary, for comfort and a glow-up effect.

In the evening: REPAIR skin at night and help it regenerate deep down, for comfortable, nourished, hydrated and plumped skin.

3 evenings a week : STIMULATE cell renewal to reduce the signs of aging, including fine lines, wrinkles and pores.

Your skin will look better, longer.

2. Focus on regularity

An effective routine is also a simple one, easy to adopt and follow. You need at least 28 days, the time required for a complete cell renewal cycle, to really notice the effects of a skincare product on your skin.

This is why it's important to adopt a protocol-based routine, with the right number of products and the right active ingredients.

3. Moisturize in&out

All skin types need moisturizing on a daily basis (even combination, oily or acne-prone skin).

Moisturize your skin from the inside out: drinking water eliminates toxins and leaves your skin supple, firm and deeply hydrated. We can't stress this enough: drinking enough water helps to hydrate the skin all over your body! The recommended minimum is 1.5 liters of water a day.

Bear in mind: the caffeine in tea and coffee gives them a noticeable diuretic effect... Instead of hydrating your body, these drinks speed up the elimination of water, thus reducing overall hydration.

Moisturize your skin on the outside: moisturize your skin every day. Incorporate a moisturizing and nourishing treatment like our Rich Cream into your beauty routine, to be applied morning and night after cleansing your skin. This helps protect the epidermis from external aggressions, slows down skin aging and, of course, prevents skin dryness and all the discomfort it generates (tightness, tingling, redness...).

Make sure your daily skin care products contain hyaluronic acid. Derived from the carbohydrate family, this molecule forms the skin's natural support structure. Its production diminishes with age, often leading to a loss of firmness and elasticity, or the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Able to retain 1,000 times its weight in water, hyaluronic acid, when applied topically, hydrates the skin, plumping it and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.

4. PROTECT yourself from the sun, even on overcast days

Regular exposure to UV rays greatly accelerates skin ageing, triggers the appearance of spots and can, in time, represent a major risk factor in the development of skin diseases. That's why it's essential to protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays by applying a broad-spectrum SPF 50 sun protection product every day, like our SPF Sun Protection Gel even on overcast days.

Keep in mind: UVA rays, which are primarily responsible for skin ageing, penetrate clouds and even windows... Even indoors, you need protection!

5. Focus on a good night's sleep

It's no secret that at night, when the skin is not subjected to external aggression (cold, UV rays, oxidative stress), the conditions are most favorable for cell renewal. That's why we call it beauty sleep! Not only is sleep essential to cell regeneration, it's also the ideal time to accompany this cycle and apply active ingredients that repair or stimulate the skin.

6. Take care of the eye contour area

The quality of our sleep has a direct impact on our eyes. Repeated short nights and poor quality sleep will lead to tired eyes, dark circles and puffiness. Eight hours a night is recommended to feel rested and benefit from a fresh, luminous eye contour.

Remember, it's never too early to start looking after your eyes. From the age of 25, an eye contour care routine becomes a daily routine to preserve the youthfulness of your eyes. As the skin around the eyes is delicate and thinner than that of the rest of the face, it's best to use a cream specially designed for this area, and to apply it by gently patting and massaging the skin to reduce bags under the eyes.

Remember to use products enriched with hyaluronic acid, such as our Eye Contour Repair Cream, for longer-lasting, more beautiful skin.
